New City Idea: Libertas Empty New City Idea: Libertas

Lets just start off with the blueprints. It is in the shape of a triangle, 181 wide and 161 tall. For the 5-thick 5 tall wall, 3060 of a selected block will be needed. (Around 47 stacks of 64) If the selected block is stone, assuming I did this right, we will need around 382 coal to smelt the cobblestone. (A little more than 5 stacks.) This doesn't include the roads in the city or the protective lip for spiders.

There are twelve sections in this city, ranging from the park to military defense. There are sections for education, business, entertainment, housing (Upper class and lower), government, registration, agriculture, military sections, and one for multiple usage. In the wall, compensating for the military's small quarters, there will be defensive towers. Also in the wall will be strategically placed cannons, if any uncontrollable havoc breaks loose. This is partially why I wanted a 5-thick wall, so we could hide the cannons fairly well within it.

Of course, this is all open for change. We can scale things, make everything a bit smaller in size. Right now the image below is 1pixel-1block. The main street is three wide, while the side streets are two wide. What does everyone think? I rather like this one. Even if no one is in the town mostly, it'll be a great addition to the medieval feel of the server.

Wow, this is not a small feat, Rene. But I am pretty sure it is possible. If we are to make this, I will help anyone in building this.

I love it but the Military should run along the 2 longest wall. this will help them man the cannons quicker as well as control out brakes of rebellion's easily:

Sounds cool. I'm more of a square builder but this seems well thought out. To save on coal / charcoal you could use cobble stone for the walls as a lot of the texture packs I've seen make it look like stone brick and smooth stone no longer seems to resist dynamite as well as it used too, but that's more pref and smooth stone does look better in vanilla textures.

Trains, don't forget the train stations, could also be under ground with an above ground entrance. Also for defenses the new dispensers could come in handy for reducing load on the watch guards / buying time to get guards into position as one guard could activate the system although they are inaccurate in the sense of not being able to aim, but a wall of death arrows is still cool.

also mats for this shouldn't be to hard to obtain due to the mountains and hills that would need to be moved to place this on the ground. I wouldn't mind building this, or helping. But i wish notch would add half diagonal blocks so that triangles were less edgy

Thats my 2 cents

I will help (if they let me on the server), also instead of mining 362 coal we could get charcoal, we would just need some wood. one more thing what type of city would this be (good, evil) Cool

i like it. but the thing is is that there is no farms. is there? i didnt read it all.i think the best fix up for this would be ,mabye, a separate triangle made for wheat growing and pig raising. and dont worry. pig raising is a real thing. and if we had every 1 download the mo-creatures we could have stables and horse infantry.but other than that. GREAT CITY! What a Face

TGSlasher:

Yeah, I kinda forgot about trains! It is a good idea to have them underground, though. I was also thinking of a mail system using water currents. Well, as much as a mail system that we can think up.

warkiller240:

Much thanks, man! This will take a lot of man power in constructing. Razz

spyman238:

I think that is up to the owner of the land we build it on, or the look of the place. If we use lava and cobble/mossycobble stone for most of it, I'm going to say evil, but wood/stone and lightstone would give it a more.. nicer feel to it I suppose. I guess it depends on our resources.

bigdipdog:

Section 9 is actually an agricultural sector. Farms! Very Happy! Yeah, downloading mo-creatures is a cool idea. I really like the horse infantry idea, makes it seem more believable that is it a medieval city. I wonder if it is possible, though.
